In an effort to bridge the gap between academic education and industry demands, President University held a seminar titled "Bridging the Skill Gap and Mastering Professional Readiness" on Wednesday, July 16th, 2025. The event, held at FabLab, featured Wardi Anggara, S.Si., M.Sc., Head of Quality Assurance at Wings Group, as the keynote speaker. Through his session, "Behind the Brands: Career Insights in the FMCG Industry", Wardi shared his professional journey from academia to the fast-paced world of Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), providing students with real-world perspectives on career opportunities and challenges in the industry.
The FMCG sector is known as a resilient and fast-growing industry, driven by population growth and evolving consumer behavior. Wardi explained that the industry offers diverse career paths, from R&D and production to marketing and finance, while requiring a strong combination of technical expertise and soft skills. Adaptability, effective communication, cross-generational collaboration, and problem-solving abilities are essential for success in such a dynamic and innovation-driven work environment.
Throughout the seminar, students were encouraged not only to pursue high academic performance but also to gain hands-on experience through projects and internships. Wardi emphasized the importance of curiosity and a proactive mindset in preparing for the real demands of the workforce. He concluded with an inspiring message: the FMCG industry is an ideal place for those who want to grow quickly and make a tangible impact, if they are willing to learn, stay adaptable, and continuously evolve.
