Tuesday, 7 April 2026—President University held a session titled “How to Conduct Human Rights Research in Indonesia” at the Charles Himawan Auditorium, 4th floor, Building A, President University Main Campus, Jababeka City, Cikarang, Bekasi. The session featured Mimin Dwi Hartono, S.E., M.A., Head of the Mediation Division at the National Commission of Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia, who shared insights into the principles and practices of conducting human rights research.

During the session, he emphasized that human rights (HAM) research plays a crucial role in addressing various issues, including agrarian conflicts, violence by authorities, discrimination against vulnerable groups, and past gross human rights violations. He explained that such research helps uncover patterns and root causes of violations, supports evidence-based policy advocacy, protects victims, and contributes to broader social change.

He also highlighted the key objectives of human rights research, including strengthening public policy advocacy, evaluating state compliance in implementing human rights, supporting public campaigns, and advancing community education. According to him, clear research objectives are essential to ensure that studies remain focused, impactful, and relevant.
