Thursday, 15 January 2026—As part of the Indonesia–China High-Level Dialogue on Sinology, China Studies, and People-to-People Exchange, held at the President Executive Club, Capitol District, Jababeka City, Cikarang, Li Lizhen, M.A., Founder and Director of PT Gama Glass Solusindo and an alumna of President University, highlighted the strategic role of universities in strengthening Indonesia–China cooperation through the development of cross-cultural talents.

Reflecting on her academic journey, Li Lizhen shared that returning to President University for the inauguration of the Indonesia–China Partnership Institution (ICPI) held deep personal meaning. Having studied Industrial Engineering Management at President University from 2005 to 2009, she described her participation in the event as both a professional milestone and a personal homecoming after two decades of building her career in Indonesia.

Drawing from her professional experience working with Chinese enterprises operating in Indonesia, she explained that the primary challenges faced by companies are not limited to investment or capital, but rather navigating differences in regulatory systems, language, and cultural understanding. “Enterprises truly need more ‘bridge-type talents’—individuals who understand both sides’ systems and needs, connect resources, reduce communication costs, and minimize trial-and-error risks,” she stated.

Li Lizhen further underlined that universities play a crucial long-term role in preparing such talents. She noted that institutions with strong international exposure, deep understanding of Indonesian society, and sustained academic engagement with China, such as President University, are positioned to contribute significantly to strengthening bilateral collaboration in education, industry, and cultural exchange.
