Monday, 26 January 2026—During the International Relations Alumni Sharing Session held at President University, Christlife Glory Manembu, an alumnus of the International Relations Study Program from the 2017 batch and currently an Emerging Business Banking Relationship Manager at PT CIMB Niaga Tbk, encouraged students to challenge conventional assumptions about career paths in both international relations and finance.
He emphasized that career options for International Relations graduates are not limited to only diplomacy, just as finance is not solely about accounting. According to him, political developments remain highly relevant to financial institutions, as banks closely monitor policy decisions that may affect markets and business strategies.
Highlighting the importance of financial literacy in policymaking, he remarked, “Policymakers who understand finance negotiate, those who don’t react.” His message encouraged students to develop interdisciplinary perspectives combining political awareness and financial understanding.
