Informatics Connect (ICON) Bridges PU and UMN IT Students Through Knowledge Exchange
March 15, 2025

The Information Technology (IT) study programs of President University (PU) and Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN) successfully organized Informatics Connect (ICON), a collaborative event designed to foster academic and professional growth. Held on March 15th, 2025 at UMN’s campus, the event brought together students and faculty for dynamic discussions on emerging IT trends, curriculum comparisons, and industry challenges through focus group discussions (FGDs). Beyond technical knowledge sharing, participants also exchanged best practices in event management, sponsorships, and institutional partnerships. This year’s ICON built upon the success of last year’s comparative study with Universitas Padjadjaran, further strengthening inter-university ties in Indonesia’s IT education landscape.

The event’s agenda creatively balanced learning and networking, featuring interactive team-building games that helped break the ice and develop lasting connections among attendees. Many participants continued engaging beyond the event, expanding their professional networks within the IT community. By combining academic discourse with relationship-building activities, ICON 2025 not only enhanced participants’ understanding of the tech industry’s evolving demands but also laid the groundwork for future collaborative projects between the institutions. Such initiatives highlight the crucial role of academic collaboration in preparing Indonesia’s next generation of technology leaders. (Rachel V, PR Team. Photo: PUMA IT)
