On the second day of PREUNI 2025, President University held a special session at PUCC, 1st floor, featuring two inspiring speakers, Rinanda Aprillya Maharani (Puteri Indonesia Education 2025) and Melliza Xaviera Putri Yulian (Puteri Indonesia Environment 2025). They shared insights on a meaningful Javanese philosophy called Ngadi Saliro Ngadi Busono, a timeless teaching inherited from the Surakarta Hadiningrat Palace. This philosophy emphasizes the importance of holistic self-care, dressing appropriately, and maintaining etiquette in daily life as the true essence of a womanโs elegance.
In their explanation, Ngadi Saliro is understood as caring for both the body and soul. Self-care, whether physical or spiritual, includes simple practices such as maintaining facial, hair, and body care to stay healthy and boost self-confidence. Meanwhile, Ngadi Busono highlights the art of dressing, which is not merely about following trends but also reflecting oneโs personality, modesty, and respect for culture. Traditional attire such as batik, kebaya, and tenun stand as symbols of beauty intertwined with noble values.
The final element is Etiquette, considered the invisible crown of every woman. Politeness in speech, respectful manners, and wise behavior shape a graceful and dignified image. Through the harmony of Ngadi Saliro, Ngadi Busono, and Etiquette, Indonesian women not only shine outwardly but also radiate inner beauty rooted in cultural values. This philosophy is a priceless heritage that remains highly relevant in the modern era, serving as an inspiration for the younger generation to practice self-care, preserve identity, and uphold the dignity of the nationโs culture.
