June 17, 2025

President University hosted a Global Talks session on Tuesday, 17 June 2025, featuring Ms. Thandie Mwape, Head of Office for UN OCHA Indonesia and ASEAN Liaison Office. Held at the Fablab, President University Convention Center, the event explored the critical role of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA) in organizing and mobilizing humanitarian aid in Indonesia and the broader Southeast Asian region. Ms. Mwape emphasized the organization's key responsibilities, including coordination, policy development, advocacy, information management, and financing. She also discussed the core humanitarian principles of humanity, neutrality, and impartiality, and how UNOCHA collaborates with various global partners such as UNESCO and IOM to strengthen international response mechanisms.

This event aligns with President University’s ongoing commitment to raising global awareness and fostering international cooperation among students. By engaging with leading international figures and institutions, the university aims to equip its students with a deeper understanding of global humanitarian challenges and their potential role in building resilient, inclusive societies.
