Currently, technology plays a very strategic role in the business world. Almost all companies have implemented technology, both hardware and software, in their business processes. To anticipate this development, President University (Presuniv) collaborates with technology companies to prepare its students so that after graduation they have skills that match industry needs. One such collaboration is with PT Epicor Software Indonesia. Through this collaboration, Epicor provided assistance worth US$170,000 in the form of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software licenses and training programs for Presuniv students.
On Wednesday, July 17, 2024, the Territory Manager of Epicor Indonesia, Andi Mulyawan, initiated the ERP training program for students from the Information System (IS) Study Program, Faculty of Computer Science, Presuniv. Dozens of students participated in the training held at the Charles Himawan Auditorium, Building A, 5th Floor, Presuniv Campus, Jl. Ki Hajar Dewantara, Jababeka Education Park, Jababeka City, Cikarang, Bekasi.
According to Genta Sahuri M.Sc., an IS Study Program lecturer and ERP Project course instructor, “The ERP course and training are indeed aimed at making Presuniv stay one step ahead of other universities. Moreover, Presuniv is located in the Jababeka industrial area with thousands of companies within it. So, we can directly see real-world cases and the application of technology at these companies.”
ERP Widely Used
ERP is the most widely used application by companies worldwide. Through this application, companies can manage and integrate all their business processes. One key factor in implementing ERP is that all data and business processes within the company must be integrated into one platform and transformed into information. This information must be accessible by various departments or business units within the company. With complete and real-time information, companies can quickly make important business decisions.
The training in the use of ERP applications is provided to Presuniv students. According to Andi Mulyawan, ERP applications are widely used by companies in the manufacturing industry. “And, in the Jababeka industrial area, there are around 2,000 companies, most of which are in the manufacturing sector. So, if Presuniv graduates are proficient in using ERP applications, they will be quickly absorbed by these companies,” explained Andi.
To all participants, Andi advised them to truly utilize this training to develop their skills and knowledge in using the ERP applications. “Through this training, Presuniv has opened the door as wide as possible for all students to have skills and knowledge that meet industry needs. So, take advantage of this opportunity by learning and practicing earnestly,” said Andi. (Faisal Rabbani, PR team. Photo: Faisal Rabbani)
