May 16, 2025

The 17th Indonesian Occupational Medicine Updates (IOMU 2025) brought together leading occupational health professionals from across the globe to share the latest research and practices in improving worker productivity. Hosted by PERDOKI in collaboration with international organizations such as ICSOEM, AOEMM, ICOH (SCOM and MinOSH), and MSOHD Malaysia, the event attracted experts and practitioners from countries including the United States of America, New Zealand, Australia, India, Malaysia, and more.

Held from May 16th to 18th, 2025, IOMU featured dr. Rima Melati of President University’s Faculty of Medicine as one of the key speakers in the Ergonomic Session. Her presentation, titled β€œThe Evolving Landscape of Office Syndrome: From Pathophysiology to Intervention,” addressed the often-overlooked yet widespread issue of Office Syndrome in the workplace. Drawing from a pilot study conducted in the Jababeka industrial area, dr. Rima Melati presented compelling research that underscored the serious impact of Office Syndrome on employee productivity and the urgent need for more focused attention in occupational health strategies.

Beyond her role as a speaker, she was also actively involved in the event as part of the Scientific Committee, served as a poster and abstract judge, and moderated two sessions: "Migrant Workers & Seafarers" and "Cancer Survivorship and Work." Her multifaceted contributions reflect a deep commitment to advancing occupational health discourse on both national and international stages. (Rachel V, PR Team. Photo: IOMU)
