Dr. Lukman, S.T., M.Hum., Head of LLDIKTI Region IV West Java and Banten, delivered his remarks at the Professor Inauguration Ceremony held at President University on 21 April 2026. He expressed his appreciation for the university’s continued achievement in advancing academic excellence through the inauguration of new professors.

He emphasized that the conferral of professorship represents formal recognition of the highest academic position that a lecturer can attain in higher education. “We are very pleased to witness the inauguration of professors at President University. This is a form of recognition of the highest academic achievement in higher education,” he stated.

Dr. Lukman also highlighted that achieving the rank of professor is a significant challenge. Out of approximately 333,000 lecturers in Indonesia, only around 12,000 have reached professorial status, or roughly 3 percent of the total.

He further noted that within the 415 universities in the West Java and Banten region, only 19 institutions are classified as “excellent,” with President University included among them. He added that one of the key indicators of such institutional excellence is the presence of professors within the university.
