Community Unites for Responsible Consumption at Golden Expo
April 27, 2025

The vibrant community of Villa Mutiara, Cibitung, came together for the “Bijak Pakai, Bijak Olah” seminar, held as part of the Golden Expo to promote sustainable living. Taking place on Sunday, April 27th, 2025, the event drew more than 300 residents in a collective effort to support responsible consumption and household waste management in alignment with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 12. This initiative was organized by the Communication Studies Program of President University under the student-led project “Commstride.”

The seminar involved engaging discussions with experts from .. (TUKR) and Bank Sampah Masyarakat Peduli Bahagia, who provided insights into the importance of reducing waste at the source. The event also welcomed local leaders including Ms. Ika from the Cibitung Subdistrict Office and Mr. Suprapto, Chairman of RW 009, both of whom applauded the student initiative and encouraged community-wide participation.

Golden Expo not only served as an educational platform but also offered entertainment through live music and a micro-business bazaar, proving that sustainability can be both informative and enjoyable. The event underscored the potential of community-based action to drive long-term change.
