Friday, 31 October 2025—The Center for Environment and Sustainable Resource Studies (CEDRS), in collaboration with the Cipta Loka Foundation, held a seminar titled “CEDRS Towards Tomorrow: Building Resilient City” at the Fabrication Laboratory (Fablab), President University Convention Center (PUCC), Jl. H. Usmar Ismail, Jababeka City.
The event began with opening remarks by Dr. Ir. Yunita Ismail, M.Si., Head of CEDRS, who emphasized the importance of collective effort in advancing sustainability. “With vision, partnership, and collaboration, we hope everyone can advance sustainability through not only technology but also education,” she said.
The session featured two speakers from Japan, Hironori Tazawa from Kitakyushu City and Junki Morita from Amita Holdings Co., Ltd., Kitakyushu. Morita shared how companies in Kitakyushu are concentrated within one region to collaborate in combating pollution effectively. “We also focus on international collaboration, providing training for environmental purposes,” Morita added.
Meanwhile, Tazawa explained Amita’s approach to sustainable waste management, stating, “We are producing and recycling. Waste is often a mix of different things, and Amita’s values are to make these wastes usable. By doing so, we can reduce the amount of waste produced while producing something useful.” (Graciella V, PR Team. Photo: PR Team)
