President University recently hosted the Sport Pilot Stream event on March 18, 2025, at the President University Convention Center. The event was a resounding success, drawing aviation enthusiasts, students, and industry professionals for a day filled with inspiring discussions, demonstrations, and networking opportunities. Attendees were treated to an immersive experience that highlighted the wonders of aviation and the future of aerospace innovation.  

A standout moment of the event was the special appearance of Captain Esther Gayatri Saleh, Indonesia’s first female Chief Test Pilot at PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI). Captain Esther, a trailblazer in the aviation industry, shared her incredible journey from studying at the Sawyer School of Aviation in the United States to becoming a pioneering figure in Indonesia’s aviation sector. Her career milestones include flying the N-250 Gatot Kaca, being appointed as Indonesia’s first Chief Test Pilot in 2012, and becoming a member of the Experimental Test Pilot Society in the United States in 2017. During the event, Captain Esther presented a copy of her book, “A Test Pilot’s Journey: Srikandi Indonesia Bertaruh Nyawa”, to Dr. Handa Abidin, Rector of President University.
