On Thursday, October 3, 2024, the Law Study Program at the Faculty of Law, President University (Presuniv), held a guest lecture titled How to Manage a Law Firm, featuring as the keynote speaker Ichsan Perwira Kurniagung, S.H., M.H., Founding Partner of FKNK law firm. The guest lecture was held at the Fabrication Lab (Fablab), President University Convention Center (PUCC), Jl. H. Usmar Ismail, Kota Jababeka, Cikarang, and was attended by Law students from batches 2023 and 2024.

In his opening remarks Presuniv Rector, Handa S. Abidin, S.H., LL.M., Ph.D., highlighted the importance of building relationships. “We may not know now what our friends will become in the future. Maybe one day they can help us, or we can help them. From assisting in careers and expanding networks, to possibly even finding a life partner through these connections,” he said, mentioning that Ichsan was a friend from his university days.

During his lecture, Ichsan shared his motivation for establishing a law firm. He mentioned that his social nature and wide circle of friends led people to trust him with their legal issues. “From there, I saw a demand for legal consultation. Although I initially hesitated to take this step, with family support, I pursued it and eventually established my own law firm,” he explained.

Ichsan noted that it wasn’t just market conditions that drove him to start his law firm. Another reason was personal: time. He recounted his experience working at a law firm where he often worked from Monday to Saturday and late into the night during busy cases. “As a result, I rarely spent any time at home and didn’t get to know my child very well,” he said. This pushed Ichsan to start his own firm, adding that “time with family is invaluable.” (Graciella V, PR Team. Photo: Faisal Rabbani)
