Friday, January 31, 2025, the Economic Survival class at President University (Presuniv) held a guest lecture titled The Future of the Fashion Business, featuring Teguh Wibowo and Juwairiyyah Jafar, the CEO and Executive Director of Kakha Series. The event took place in the Theater Room at President University Convention Center (PUCC), Jl. H. Usmar Ismail, Kota Jababeka, Cikarang. Teguh and Juwairiyyah shared their journey of starting a business from scratch to becoming a well-known brand over the past five years.
Dr. Ir. Yunita Ismail Masjud, M.Si., the lecturer of the Economic Survival course, explained that this class encourages students to start their own businesses. “Fashion is one of the industries that many students are interested in. Therefore, learning from professionals in the field is highly valuable for them,” said Yunita. She further emphasized that the class supports students in pursuing their fashion business aspirations by inviting Kakha Series to share their experiences.
During the session, Teguh highlighted the significance of education in one’s life. “Education may not instantly change one’s social status, but it can serve as a bridge toward it,” he stated. According to him, starting a business requires more than just capital; it also demands skills that can be acquired through education and relevant experiences.
Juwairiyyah echoed Teguh’s sentiments and stressed the importance of problem-solving skills for entrepreneurs. “This is a crucial skill for any businessperson,” she emphasized. She also pointed out that success in entrepreneurship is never guaranteed. The only certainty is the presence of challenges along the way. “Students need to quickly learn how to tackle these problems to ensure their businesses continue to grow,” she concluded.
