On Friday, November 8, 2024, the Business Administration Study Program, Faculty of Business, President University (Presuniv), held a guest lecture themed “Social Enterprise” at the Fabrication Laboratory, President University Convention Center, Jl. H. Usmar Ismail, Kota Jababeka, Cikarang. Organized by Dr. Anggraeni Permatasari, S.Sos., MSM, this event was part of the Mid-Semester Examination (UTS) assignment for Business Administration students. The lecture aimed to deepen students’ understanding of social business models and inspire them to create innovative and sustainable business models.

The event featured two social enterprise practitioners: Dr. Adrian Ariatin, S.SN., MBA, founder of Kaos Gurita Bandung and lecturer at the Faculty of Business, Telkom University, and Eka Ariani, S.Si., MBA, founder of Petik Organic. Both speakers shared their insights on Social Business Models & Innovation and also served as evaluators for students’ case analysis projects.

In his presentation, Adrian emphasized the importance for students to develop themselves to become the best versions of themselves. He highlighted the value of entrepreneurial skills, communication, leadership, and creativity to compete in the professional world. “When seeking solutions, don’t just rely on the first thought that comes to mind,” Adrian stated. He encouraged students to be brave in trying different solutions and to focus on enhancing the value of each idea they develop.

Meanwhile, Eka Ariani shared the inspiring story behind the founding of Petik Organic. She recounted that her business began from a personal experience of searching for healthy food products for her family. “Many vegetable and meat products are known to be healthy, but their cultivation methods are not always good for health,” Eka explained.
