Andien Lights Up the 9th PULU with an Unwavering Spirit of Creativity
July 04, 2025

On July 4, 2025, President University held its 9th annual President University Lyrics Unplugged (PULU) at Theater Rooms 1 and 2. This yearโ€™s event felt even more special with the presence of renowned Indonesian singer Andien as the main guest star. The event opened with her iconic song "Sahabat Setia," a piece she composed 20 years ago, which has become a symbol of her musical journey. Starting her career at a young age, Andien chose to release adult-themed songs instead of childrenโ€™s music, demonstrating her mature musical perspective early on.

Andien shared an inspiring story about her journey as an artist. She revealed that she was once bullied for not being able to sing and for having what some considered an unpleasant voice. However, everything changed with the release of her debut album Bisikan Hati in 2000, followed by her second album Kinanti in 2002. Although initially deemed "unfit for its time," Kinanti went on to be recognized as one of the top 10 albums in Indonesia. Now, with 25 years of experience and eight albums to her name, Andien continues to create music.

The 9th PULU marked a special milestone as it introduced jazz as the featured genre for the first time, aligning perfectly with Andienโ€™s musical style. During an intimate conversation, she emphasized the importance of having the courage to create, as every piece of work will find its right time to be appreciated. Her presence at PULU served as a powerful reminder that the passion to keep creating will always lead to meaningful recognition, even if the journey starts with doubt. (Roffizul H, PR Team.
