Sunday, 14 December 2025—President University’s 21st Graduation Ceremony also featured reflections from Oh Joon, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the United Nations (2013–2016), who shared his perspective on globalization and the role of young people in shaping the future.
In his remarks, Oh Joon, who also served as President of the United Nations Security Council in 2014 and President of the United Nations Economic and Social Council from 2015 to 2016, explained that the early phase of globalization was once met with great enthusiasm, which has gradually shifted into growing concern as the world faces increasingly complex global challenges. He noted that issues ranging from inequality to climate change have emerged alongside globalization, demanding serious and collective attention.
Highlighting the importance of youth participation, he emphasized the crucial role of the younger generation in determining the direction of the world’s future. “Now is the time for us to contribute to building a sustainable future,” he said.
