Accounting with Integrity Presented to the Future Accountants of President University
April 25, 2025

The International Webinar 2025, themed “Future-Proofing Accounting – Academic Perspectives on Sustainability and Leadership in a Tech-Driven World”, on April 25th, 2025, brought together experts to explore accounting’s evolving role. Muhammad Imran, Director of Finance at PT Jababeka PP Property, delivered an impactful session on ethical leadership in accounting, addressing the moral challenges professionals face in the modern financial environment.

Mr. Imran discussed five key components of ethical leadership: a strong moral compass, internal controls, inclusivity, integrity, and ongoing ethical training. He emphasized that ethics is more than compliance—it’s about making the right decisions even when they are not mandated by regulations. Real-life scenarios, including rejecting reimbursement claims from senior staff that violate policy, were used to demonstrate the importance of accountability at every level.

The session also delved into how automation and AI, while boosting efficiency, can introduce algorithmic bias and data manipulation risks. Mr. Imran stressed the importance of human oversight in technological systems and called for the cultivation of ethical cultures in organizations, beginning with small, consistent actions.

This resonates deeply with the mission of President University, which emphasizes ethical professionalism in its academic programs. By integrating discussions of ethics, integrity, and leadership into its accounting curriculum, the university ensures students are not only technically skilled but also morally grounded leaders in their future careers.
