President University once again presented a unique cultural experience through the President University International Dinner (PUID), held on Friday, July 25, 2025. Taking place on the second floor of the President University Convention Center (PEC), this year’s event adopted a vibrant Japanese theme. Authentic Japanese dishes were prepared by Utako Sato, a Law student from the professional class, batch 2024. With the tagline “One bite, one culture!”, the dinner drew enthusiastic participation from both local and international students, and was graced by the presence of the Rector of President University, Dr. Handa S. Abidin.
Guests were treated to a culinary tour of Japan through signature dishes such as Hiyayakko (cold tofu), Oyakodon (chicken and egg rice bowl), and Matcha Pudding for dessert. These delicacies were served personally by the chef and members of PUNICO (President University Nippon Community), who heightened the immersive experience by cosplaying as popular characters from anime and Japanese pop culture. The atmosphere was lively and joyful, capturing the spirit of Japan and transforming the evening into more than just a dinner—it became a cultural journey.
In a special effort to share this international experience beyond the university, President University also invited students from several senior high schools in the area. These students had the chance to witness firsthand the dynamic and inclusive environment of the university, while enjoying the festive and flavorful spirit of PUID.
More than a culinary showcase, PUID serves as a meaningful platform for cross-cultural exchange, bringing together students from countries such as Taiwan, China, Thailand, and Myanmar. Through shared meals and cultural appreciation, President University continues to foster global understanding and strengthen its commitment to internationalization.
