Sylvia Savitri graduated from Parahyangan Catholic University and completed her Master’s Degree in Communication at the University of Indonesia (UI) Jakarta. She is an expert in Media, Culture and Political Studies. Her previous teaching experience in the University of Tujuh Belas Agustus (Untag) and Indonesian Naval Staff College (Seskoal).

She develops and applies innovative and appropriate teaching techniques learning and material which create interest, understanding, and enthusiasm amongst students, and ensures that the course's design and delivery comply with the quality standards and regulations of the university and faculty. Recently, she is chosen as the best lecturer nominated by the communication students.

Aside from being an active member of a professional organization, she also recommends the students to get involved in presentations or exhibitions in national conferences and other similar events. She and her students organized the successful events of Movie Discussion Group "I Leave my Heart in Lebanon" in President University Auditorium (2016).

Students also study outside the classroom, experienced real practice, host the political and communication talk show inside and outside the campus. They learn from the experts and from some of the practitioners who come to have sharing sessions with the students, in varied topics.

She currently serves as a member of The Editor for an Anthology of Papers of Communication Studies 2017.

Sylvia has an interest in the media with expertise in Political Communication.
