Isyana earned her first degree, an associate’s degree, from the Faculty of Humanities (FIB) at The University of Indonesia (UI) with a major in English as A Second Language (ESL). Then she moved to Auckland, New Zealand, to attend The University of Auckland. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) with a double major in English Literature and Films Television and Media Studies (FTVMS) in 2008. In 2010, Isyana returned to UI to earn a Master of Science in Terrorism Studies from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP). She graduated in 2012. Her essays have been included in a number of publications, in Indonesia and overseas, including “Living in The Limelight: The Dynamics of The Celebrity Experience” published by Inter-Disciplinary Press, UK, dan “Kajian Konflik dan Perdamaian” published by Graha Ilmu, Indonesia. In addition to that, Isyana was one of the winners of a research grant awarded by Open Society Foundation (OSF), UK, in 2013.
