Felicia Limiardo, Information Technology Study Program

Delightful to be able to study on a campus which buildings are similar to the Harry Potter films

Felicia Limiardo, a student of the Information Technology Study Program, President University (PresUniv), has the opportunity to participate in a student exchange program with full scholarships to an overseas university. Felicia was selected to study for one semester at one of the best universities in the world, which is the University of Edinburgh, United Kingdom.

Referring to the ranking issued by QS World University in 2021, the University of Edinburgh is ranked as the 20th best in the world. Meanwhile, for the Times Higher Education World 2021 version, the University of Edinburgh is ranked 30th.

Felicia Limiardo, student batch 2019, is one of five PresUniv students who successfully passed the selection and received scholarships for student exchange through the Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA) 2021 program. IISMA is one of eight Merdeka Campus programs initiated by the Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, Nadiem Makarim. IISMA aims to provide rights and opportunities for students to carry out self-development activities outside their original campus. This program is organized and financed by the Directorate General of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbud Ristek).

Through this program, Felicia will learn about the culture of the destination country and improve her skills. All expenses during this program, such as tuition and registration fees, transportation allowances, living expenses allowance during the program, health insurance, visa allowances, and PCR tests, will be supported by the government.

Successfully passing the selection, Felicia admitted that she is thrilled and proud. Moreover, she will soon experience what it is like to study at one of the prestigious universities in the world. Felicia shared her reasons for choosing the University of Edinburgh. She said, “Besides using English as a daily language, this university also offers courses that I like. In addition, the campus buildings are also magnificent. Just like in the Harry Potter movies."

Felicia admitted that she had always wanted to study abroad. However, her desire has not been achieved due to cost limitations. It was her desire that finally encouraged her to try the IISMA full scholarship program. “I really want to join this program, even if it is only for one semester. Who knows, there will be an opportunity to continue my master's degree there," she wished.

At the University of Edinburgh, Felicia will take three courses: Introduction to Cognitive Science, Origin and Diversity of Life, and Contemporary Issues in Health and Wellbeing. Currently, she and several other PresUniv students are preparing the necessary documents. There are, Letter of Acceptance (LoA) and Visa. She said that the requirements for traveling are quite a lot. Some countries even require students to be vaccinated against Covid-19 first. (Silvia Desi Betrice, PR team. Photo: Felicia)
