Alumni Sharing Session: Building Specialization for Future Career

An alumnus of International Relations at President University batch 2013, Alfachreza Azure attended the Alumni Sharing Session that was held online recently. The man who is called Reza managed to get a scholarship from the Russian Government to pursue a master's degree at the People's Friendship University of Russia. Reza shared his knowledge about International Relations and his university life at President University until now he is studying in Russia.

The Millennial Way in Tackling the Challenges of COVID-19

The COVID-19 pandemic is still haunting our community right now. The number of COVID-19 positive patients that continue to increase becomes a heartbreaking fact that must be handled immediately. In response to this situation, a number of President University's International Relations students held a webinar entitled "The Millennial Way in Tackling the Challenges of COVID-19". This webinar presented experts to provide accurate information on this issue. They were Pulmonology and Respiratory specialist doctors, Dr. Nina Aspasi Harli Siregar, Sp.P., and Expert Staff from MPR RI and founder of the Institute for Border Studies Millennial Think Tank, Harsen Roy Tampomuri.

Substitution of human labor with machines has changed production systems, for example the application of smart factories that use cyber-physical systems. This idea was delivered by Ir. Hery Hamdi Azwir, M.T., a lecturer of Industrial Engineering Study Program at President University at an e-talk show entitled “Industry 4.0 as a Solution for Production Sustainability” (6/25).

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) contribute greatly to the development of the country's economy. In addition to being the foundation of the country's economy, MSME absorbs quite a large number of workers. However, their existence is now threatened by the COVID-19 pandemic. The declining demand for products has made many MSMEs shut down and lay off their employees. Has been long interested in environmental issues, Patrisya Deka Gutawa, chose to join the Industrial Engineering study program at President University in 2013. In the Alumni Sharing Session held by President University last week (4/7), the woman who is called Cia, told her the reason to study Industrial Engineering, her interest in the environment, and her journey in pursuing master's degree at Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) in Brussels, Belgium.
