The Directorate General of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia announced the clustering of Indonesian universities in 2020. From the analysis of data on 2,136 higher education institutions registered under the Ministry of Education and Culture, President University is ranked 79th as the best universities in Indonesia. At a relatively young age, President University is in the top 8 universities in West Java and Banten (LLDikti IV Region).
Reported in a media release by the Director General of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Culture, this clustering aims to provide a foundation for the development policies, improve the quality of higher education, and to encourage universities to improve the quality the Tridharma of higher education’s implementation in a sustainable manner. Various information regarding higher education performance is identified based on four main aspects, namely the quality of human and student resources (input), institutional management of higher education (process), short-term performance achievements achieved by universities (output), and long-term performance achievements of universities. height (outcome).
In line with the goals and mission of the Ministry of Education and Culture, President University has strived to improve the quality of its education. President University Rector, Prof. Dr. Jony Oktavian Haryanto revealed that President University has implemented the Kampus Merdeka curriculum with the concept of independent learning which allows every student to study according to their passion, interests, and directs them to the right career path as early as possible.
Furthermore, Prof. Haryanto said, "We are grateful to be ranked 79th. However, this does not make us satisfied. We must keep pushing ourselves to be better so that the target is we can move into the top 50 universities next year. For this reason, the quality of education becomes the main point that we all ned to pay attention to, one of which is the implementation of the Presidential University version of Kampus Merdeka curriculum by considering input from practitioners so that it is up-to-date with industry needs.”
Besides the curriculum, Prof. Haryanto explained that President University also pays attention to the quality of the lecturers. "We also continue to encourage lecturers to conduct research. We also increase the number of lecturers who are also practitioners, so that not only the theory is taught, but also the direct application to the real work settings," he concluded. (SL)
President University, Salah Satu Universitas Termuda Terbaik di Indonesia Menempati Peringkat 8 di Jawa Barat dan Banten (LLDikti IV)
Direktorat Jenderal Pendidikan Tinggi, Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Republik Indonesia mengumumkan klasterisasi perguruan tinggi Indonesia tahun 2020. Dari hasil analisis terhadap data 2.136 perguruan tinggi yang terdaftar di bawah nauangan Kemendikbud, President University menempati peringkat 79 perguruan tinggi terbaik di Indonesia. Di usia yang masih terbilang muda, President University juga menempati posisi ke 8 di tingkat Jawa Barat dan Banten (Wilayah LLDikti IV).
Dilansir media rilis oleh Dirjen Dikti, Kemendikbud, klasterisasi ini bertujuan untuk menyediakan landasan bagi pengembangan kebijakan pembangunan, pembinaan perguruan tinggi serta untuk mendorong perguruan tinggi dalam meningkatkan kualitas pelaksanaan tridharma perguruan tinggi secara berkelanjutan. Berbagai informasi mengenai kinerja perguruan tinggi diidentifikasi berdasarkan empat aspek utama, yaitu mutu sumber daya manusia dan mahasiswa (input), pengelolaan kelembagaan perguruan tinggi (proses), capaian kinerja jangka pendek yang dicapai oleh perguruan tinggi (output), dan capaian kinerja jangka panjang perguruan tinggi (outcome).
Sejalan dengan tujuan dan misi dari Kemendikbud, President University telah berjuang penuh meningkatkan kualitas pendidikannya. Rektor President University, Prof. Dr. Jony Oktavian Haryanto mengungkapkan bahwa saat ini President University telah menerapkan kurikulum Kampus Merdeka dengan konsep merdeka belajar yang memungkinkan setiap mahasiswa untuk belajar sesuai bakat, minat dan mengarahkan mereka pada jalur karir yang tepat sedini mungkin.
Lebih lanjut, Prof. Haryanto mengatakan, “Kita bersyukur dapat menempati peringkat 79. Namun, hal ini tidak membuat kita puas. Kita harus tetap memacu diri untuk menjadi lebih baik sehingga targetnya, tahun depan dapat menembus peringkat 50 besar. Untuk itu, kualitas pendidikan menjadi yang utama untuk diperhatikan, salah satunya dengan diterapkannya kurikulum Kampus Merdeka ala President University dengan mempertimbangkan masukan-masukan dari praktisi sehingga up-to-date dengan kebutuhan industri.”
Selain kurikulum, Prof. Haryanto menjelaskan bahwa President University juga memperhatikan kualitas para pengajar di tempatnya. “Kami juga terus mendorong para dosen untuk melakukan penelitian. Kami juga menambah jumlah dosen yang juga adalah praktisi, sehingga tidak hanya teori yang diajarkan, namun juga aplikasi langsung ke dunia kerja,” tutupnya. (SL)
