After one year together, President University bid farewell with three exchange students from the Darmasiswa program who will go back to their home countries. The students are Nonsikelelo Angela Tshabangu from Zimbabwe, Radwa Mohammed Osama Abdalla Elsaid Hewedy from Egypt, and Moses Tende Stephens from Liberia.

Even though they are in a difficult situation due to the current pandemic, they have been able to complete their studies at President University by attending classes that conducted online in the past few months. Likewise, with the closing event of Darmasiswa program at President University that was held online. The event was attended by the Vice Rector for Student Affairs at President University, Handa S. Abidin, S.H., LL.M., Ph.D. 

Even though they cannot meet face to face, the Darmasiswa program students remained enthusiastic about talking and sharing their experiences, also reminiscing all the memories they had during their one year of study at President University. Handa was even surprised by the ability of the three to understand what he was saying in Indonesian, even they also responded in Indonesian. "Congratulations on completing the Darmasiswa program. Even though this program has ended, you will always be a part of President University. I also gladly welcome you back as full-time students if you want to study master's degree at President University,” said Handa. One of the students, Moses said, "I really had a good time here, learn Indonesian culture and language. I hope that in the future there will be other opportunities for us to meet.”

Darmasiswa Indonesian Scholarship Program organized by the Ministry of Education and Culture of Republic of Indonesia (Mendikbud) in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, is a scholarship program offered to all foreign students from countries which have diplomatic relationship with Indonesia to learn Indonesian language, art, and culture. President University Melepas Tiga Mahasiswa Pertukaran Program Darmasiswa Kembali ke Negara Masing-Masing


Setelah satu tahun bersama, President University melepas kepergian tiga mahasiswa pertukaran pelajar program Darmasiswa kembali ke negara asalnya. Mereka adalah Nonsikelelo Angela Tshabangu dari Zimbabwe, Radwa Mohammed Osama Abdalla Elsaid Hewedy dari Mesir, dan Moses Tende Stephens dari Liberia.

Meski berada dalam keadaan sulit akibat pandemi saat ini, mereka dapat menyelesaikan pembelajaran di President University dengan mengikuti kelas-kelas yang dilaksanakan secara daring beberapa bulan terakhir ini. Begitu juga dengan acara pelepasan yang diadakan secara online. Acara pelepasan dihadiri oleh Wakil Rektor Bidang Kemahasiswaan di President University, Handa S. Abidin, S.H., LL.M., Ph.D. 

Meski tidak bertemu secara langsung, para mahasiswa program Darmasiswa tetap antusias untuk berbincang dan berbagi pesan kesan, mengenang pengalaman mereka selama satu tahun belajar di President University. Handa bahkan terkejut dengan kemampuan ketiganya memahami apa yang ia ucapkan dalam bahasa Indonesia, bahkan mereka juga menanggapinya dalam bahasa Indonesia. “Selamat karena telah menyelesaikan program Darmasiswa ini. Meski program ini telah berakhir, kalian akan selalu tetap menjadi bagian dari President University. Saya juga dengan senang hati menyambut kalian kembali sebagai mahasiswa full-time jika kelak ingin menempuh studi magister di President University,” ujar Handa. Salah satu mahasiswa, Moses mengungkapkan, “Saya sangat senang berada di sini untuk mempelajari budaya dan bahasa Indonesia. Saya berharap ke depan akan ada kesempatan lain untuk kita berjumpa.”

Program Darmasiswa yang diselenggarakan oleh Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Republik Indonesia (Mendikbud) bekerja sama dengan Kementerian Luar Negeri Republik Indonesia adalah program beasiswa yang ditawarkan kepada semua mahasiswa asing dari negara-negara yang memiliki hubungan diplomatik dengan Indonesia untuk belajar bahasa, seni, dan budaya Indonesia.
