Japan is one of the countries in Asia which is known for its rapid development in the aspects of education and technology, such as telecommunications, machinery, and robotics. So, it is only natural for people to choose Japan to be a place to study and start a career, one of them is Yohanes de Britto Hertyasta Pratama, M.Phil, an alumnus of Information Technology President University batch 2009.

In the Live E-Talkshow series with President University (6/27), Yohanes de Britto Hertyasta Pratama, M.Phil Electronic Systems Engineering, who is now working as a Consultant at Mamezou Co. Ltd, Tokyo, Japan, shared his life experience as he now works in a consulting firm that promotes information system optimization and software development style innovation.

Since a long time ago, Yohanes has already been interested in Information Technology and Japanese culture. Moreover, his university environment also strongly supports his dream to study and start a career in Japan. After graduating from President University, Yohanes continued his studies at the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. During his studies, he joined a student exchange program in Tokyo City University and at that moment, he decided to apply for a job in Japan.

However, who would have thought that behind his success, he had been rejected from two companies in Jakarta and Kuala Lumpur, and two other companies in Japan. Also, when the first time he arrived in Japan, he cannot speak Japan fluently. Thanks to his commitment and perseverance, currently Yohanes still pursues the field of Robotic and Artificial Intelligent at Mamezou Co. LTD.

"Whatever the path we choose, there must be challenges. When we are on the top, do not get lulled, and when we are at the bottom, remember the reasons why we take this road," said Yohanes. "The most important thing is that in carrying out each activity, we need to balance our life by knowing when to work and when to rest," he added.

During his studies, Yohanes was active in organizations and clubs & communities. He was the Chairperson of the President University Student Association (PUMA) in his department. Also, Yohanes, who is the recipient of a 100% scholarship at President University is one of the founders of the Japanese cultural community which is currently still working on at President University. Alumni Sharing Session: Yohanes de Britto, Alumni IT President University yang Kini Dalami Robotik dan Artificial Intelligent di Jepang


Jepang adalah salah satu negara di Asia yang dikenal dengan kemajuannya dalam aspek pendidikan dan teknologi di bidang telekomunikasi, permesinan, dan robotika. Maka, sudah wajar saja jika Jepang menjadi salah satu negara yang diminati oleh banyak orang baik untuk meneruskan pendidikan maupun berkarir, salah satunya Yohanes de Britto Hertyasta Pratama, M.Phil Teknik Sistem Elektronika, alumni Teknik Informatika President University angkatan 2009.

Dalam series Live E-Talkshow bersama President University (27/6), Yohanes de Britto yang saat ini bekerja sebagai Konsultan di Mamezou Co. Ltd, Tokyo, Jepang, membagikan pengalaman perjalanan hidupnya hingga bisa bekerja di perusahaan konsultan yang mempromosikan optimalisasi sistem informasi dan inovasi gaya pengembangan perangkat lunak.

Sejak lama, Yohanes memang sudah memiliki ketertarikan dengan dunia Teknologi Informasi dan negara Jepang. Selain itu, lingkungan perkuliahan Yohanes di President University juga sangat mendukung mimpinya untuk dapat belajar dan berkarir di negara Sakura itu. Setelah lulus dari President University, Yohanes melanjutkan studinya di University Teknologi Malaysia. Dalam masa studinya, ia melakukan pertukaran pelajar di Tokyo City University dan dari situlah ia mulai tertarik dan memutuskan untuk melamar pekerjaan di Jepang.

Namun siapa sangka, dibalik kesuksesan Yohanes, ia pernah ditolak oleh perusahaan yang ada di Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, dan dua perusahaan lain di Jepang. Selain itu Yohanes mengaku bahwa ia masih belum fasih dalam berbahasa Jepang. Berkat komitmen dan konsistensi yang ia miliki, hingga saat ini Yohanes masih menggeluti bidang Robotik dan Artificial Intelligent di Mamezou Co. Ltd.

"Jalan apapun yang kita pilih pasti ada tantangannya. Ketika kita diatas jangan sampai terbuai, dan ketika kita dibawah ingat alasan kenapa kita mengambil jalan ini", ujar Yohanes. “Hal yang paling penting adalah dalam menjalani setiap kegiatan kita perlu seimbang, tahu kapan harus bekerja dan kapan harus istirahat,” imbuhnya.

Di masa perkuliahannya, Yohanes aktif dalam organisasi dan ekstrakurikuler. Ia pernah menjadi Ketua Himpunan Mahasiswa (HIMA) di jurusannya. Selain itu, penerima beasiswa 100% di President University ini adalah salah satu pendiri komunitas budaya Jepang yang hingga saat ini ada di President University, yaitu Punico. (ZA/SL)
