The COVID-19 pandemic has affected not only our health but also our business and investment activities. Thus, President University held a webinar with the topic President University Webinar Series 2020: Business Insights on Friday (8/5).

Through this webinar, Dr. Josep Ginting, CFA., a financial consultant who is also a lecturer at Accounting Study Program President University presented the economic condition of Indonesia in the midst of the pandemic. He stated that the pandemic potentially demands the degradation of the bank loan interest rate. "This is the time to increase investment because of lower interest rate," Josep explained. He continued that the degradation of interest rate will open the opportunity for start-up companies or small and medium enterprises to develop their business through bank funding. However, the side effect is the bank will increase its risk tolerance from the loan.

Therefore, Josep explained that there are a number of things that we should pay attention to if we are aiming to acquire funding from the bank. "Real cashflow is important. Everyone can show their own budgeting, but if they can not show their financial statement performance, it's meaningless," he said.

After acquiring the funding, running the business in the midst of the pandemic has its own challenges. Dr. Dra. Genoveva, M.M., an entrepreneur and the Head of Management Study Program at President University, stated that we have to look back to the definition of an entrepreneur. "An entrepreneur should have an initiative, an idea to start a business. Then, under a pandemic situation like this, an entrepreneur is supposed to have innovation as well, on how this business should sustain, can be maneuvered to another direction, we have to be flexible about it," she explained.

Discussing funding and tips on running a business in the midst of the pandemic, a lot of questions were raised by the audience which were later discussed during the questions and answers session by the end of the webinar. Approximately 190 participants joined this webinar and gained valuable knowledge from the experts. (APW/SL)

Strategi Pendanaan dan Kiat Sukses Mempertahankan Bisnis di Tengah Pandemi

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected not only our health, but also our business and investment activities. Thus, it is important to know the best strategy to keep your business running well, choose the best financial programs for your investment, and improve your fund’s return. Let’s join our webinar for free and get an e-certificate after the event.

(SL)
