To support students and lecturers to obtain valuable complementary learning resources, President University has collaborated with Coursera through Coursera for Campus program. This collaboration is achieved through the effort carried out by the Partnerships Bureau and the Remote Learning Team or Pembelajaran Jarak Jauh (PJJ) President University.
As the result, 4500 President University users can access more than 3800 online courses available at Coursera. Normally, users have to pay approximately US$45 to access a course at Coursera, but through the President University-Coursera, users can access this course for free.
The courses available at Coursera are quite diverse. Many courses from a variety of studies such as Humanities, Technologies, Natural Science, Arts, and many others are available with a select number of durations.
“Right now, we have sent the Coursera access invitations to hundreds of lecturers and thousands of active students at President University. The students and lecturers can check their invitation through their email that has been registered in PUIS,” explained Ronny Juwono, the Coordinator of PJJ of President University.
“Coursera becomes a quite interesting and beneficial online learning platform for President University students because they receive complementary resources by joining many online courses offered by well known universities across the world,” said Marissa Astika, B.Sc., M.B.A., the Head of Partnerships Bureau of President University.
The online courses available on Coursera are provided by the best universities in the world, among others Yale University, Stanford University, and many more. Some of them are also supported by well known companies such as Google, IBM, and others.
Furthermore, Ronny mentioned that “Coursera serves as complementary learning resources. This means that online learning and its interaction are still carried out by the lecturers responsible of each respective subject by utilizing the courses from Coursera. The interaction between the lecturer and the student through other platforms such as chat, email, or online learning are still conducted normally and appropriately, so that they could be accounted for to each faculty.”
Both the Partnerships Bureau and PJJ team hope that all students and lecturers can maximize this opportunity well. Considering that the majority of the online courses offered by Cousera grant certificates upon completion within the criteria, this will be very much beneficial for the user’s skill development and competence. President University-Coursera Berikan Materi Suplemen dari Berbagai Universitas Ternama Dunia
Untuk mendukung mahasiswa dan dosennya mendapatkan suplemen materi berkualitas, President University telah berkolaborasi dengan Coursera melalui program Coursera for Campus. Hal ini terwujud akibat kolaborasi antara Biro Kerja Sama dan tim Pembelajaran Jarak Jauh (PJJ) President University.
Sebagai hasilnya, 4500 pengguna dari President University dapat mengakses lebih dari 3800 kelas online yang tersedia di Coursera. Jika pengguna pada umumnya harus membayar sekitar 45 dollar untuk satu kelas di Coursera, pengguna dengan akses dari President University-Coursera dapat mengaksesnya secara gratis.
Pilihan kelas di Coursera pun cukup beragam. Kelas dari berbagai bidang seperti Humaniora, Teknologi, Ilmu Alam, Seni, dan lain sebagainya tersedia dengan durasi yang juga beragam.
"Saat ini, kami sudah mengirimkan undangan akses Coursera kepada ratusan dosen dan ribuan mahasiswa aktif President University. Mahasiswa dan dosen dapat mengecek undangan tersebut melalui email yang didaftarkan di PUIS," ujar Ronny Juwono, Koordinator PJJ President University.
Coursera menjadi platform pembelajaran online yang cukup menarik dan bermanfaat bagi mahasiswa President University karena mereka akan mendapatkan materi suplemen dengan mengikuti berbagai kelas online dari universitas-universitas ternama di dunia," ujar Marissa Astika, B.Sc., M.B.A., Kepala Biro Kerja Sama President University.
Adapun kelas online di Coursera diselenggarakan oleh universitas-universitas terbaik di dunia, seperti Yale University, Stanford University, dan masih banyak lagi lainnya. Selain itu, beberapa kelas online juga didukung oleh perusahaan-perusahaan terkemuka dunia seperti Google, IBM, dan lainnya.
Lebih lanjut, Ronny menyebutkan, "Coursera hadir sebagai suplemen pembelajaran. Ini artinya pembelajaran online dan interaksinya tetap dipimpin oleh dosen pengampu mata kuliah masing-masing dengan memanfaatkan berbagai materi dari platform Coursera. Interaksi antara dosen dan mahasiswa melalui platform chat, email, atau online learning lainnnya tetap dilakukan dan harus bisa dipertanggungjawabkan ke fakultas masing-masing."
Baik Biro Kerja Sama maupun tim PJJ berharap seluruh mahasiswa dan dosen dapat memanfaatkan kesempatan ini dengan baik. Mengingat bahwa sebagian besar kelas online juga memberikan sertifikat kelulusan bagi pengguna yang telah menyelesaikan kelas online dengan kriteria atau nilai minimum tertentu, yang tentu akan sangat berguna untuk pengembangan skill dan kompetensi pengguna itu sendiri.
