The President University team consisting of Ayu Dewi Sari (Industrial Engineering 2016), Hiqmatus Sholichah (Environmental Engineering 2016), Sonia Sutrisno (Information System 2016), dan Grace Raissa Kelana (Information Technology 2016) won the second place in the BEYOND Competition “BEYOND - Building and Empowering Young Innovators for Indonesia” (1/14). The competition was held by PT. Astra Daihatsu Motor with aim to challenge Indonesian students to create innovation or creative ideas to improve company growth, such as improving product quality, service, technology, or human resource capabilities.
In this competition, they submitted an essay that proposed the use of the internet of things (IoT) in the production process at Astra Motor. They proposed the use of technology they call IsMa (Integrated Monitoring System Automation) in which IsMa is a real power monitoring system that can detect unnatural electricity consumption on a machine. "In result, the use of a machine becomes more efficient so the electricity bill is not excessive. In the long term, we will protect the environment from global warming if the use of electricity can be controlled properly," said Sonia when explaining the ideas her team proposed to Astra.
Being the only private university team to reach the final round, the team leader Ayu expressed her excitement. "We are grateful and proud to have won the second place. We hope that our idea can be implemented well and be useful for the company. We are not going to stop here, we will continue to provide creative ideas to help companies maximize their production processes," she said. (SL)
Mahasiswa President University Usulkan IoT Real-Time Monitoring untuk Menghemat Biaya Listrik Perusahaan
Tim President University yang terdiri dari Ayu Dewi Sari (Teknik Industri 2016), Hiqmatus S holichah (Teknik Lingkungan 2016), Sonia Sutrisno (Sistem Informasi 2016), dan Grace Raissa Kelana (Teknik Informatika 2016) berhasil menjadi juara ke 2 dalam kompetisi BEYOND Competition “BEYOND - Building and Empowering Young Innovators for Indonesia” (14/1). Kompetisi ini diadakan oleh PT. Astra Daihatsu Motor dengan tujuan untuk menantang anak-anak muda membuat ide kreatif yang dapat mendukung perkembangan perusahaan, seperti meningkatkan kualitas produk, servis, teknologi, dan kapabilitas sumber daya manusia.
Dalam kompetisi ini, keempat mahasiswa tingkat akhir ini mengajukan proposal pengunaan internet of things (IoT) dalam proses produksi di Astra Motor. Mereka mengajukan penggunaan teknologi yang mereka sebut dengan IsMa (Integrated system Monitoring Automation) di mana IsMa merupakan sistem real monitoring tenaga listrik yang dapat mendeteksi konsumsi listrik yang tidak wajar pada suatu mesin. “Efeknya, pemakaian listrik pada mesin jadi lebih efisien sehingga tagihan listrik tidak berlebihan. Jangka panjangnya, kita menyelamatkan lingkungan dari pemanasan global jika pemakaian energi listrik dapat dikontrol dengan baik,” ujar Sonia saat menjelaskan ide yang timnya usulkan kepada Astra.
Menjadi satu-satunya tim perguruan tinggi swasta yang lolos ke babak final, ketua tim Ayu mengungkapkan kegembiraannya. “Kami bersyukur dan bangga karena berhasil meraih juara kedua. Kami harap ide ini dapat benar-benar diterapkan dan berguna bagi perusahaan. Tidak berhenti di sini, kami akan terus berusaha memberikan ide-ide kreatif untuk membantu para perusahaan memaksimalkan proses produksinya,” ujarnya. (SL)
