Commemorating its seventh anniversary, Mechanical Engineering of President University successfully conducted the "7th DNM Presuniv: Reborn of Mechanical President University". Held on 13-24 November 2019, this event presented many interesting agendas, such as the opening of the motorcycle service stand, blood donor, technology seminar, e-sport competition, and Oto Contest (motorcycle modification competition).

The Head of Mechanical Engineering Study Program of President University Dr. Eng. Lydia Anggraini, S.T., M.Eng. said that this year's Dies Natalis was special and different. "The previous years' Dies Natalis focused more on academic, comparably, this year's agendas including competition and seminar, focused more on increasing the creativity and developing the potential of the students and the people in Cikarang and its surrounding area," Lydia explained.

Lydia also mentioned that she delegated the entire preparation and organization of the event to the President University Major Association (PUMA) Mechanical Engineering. Starting from the seminar that invited Dr. Eko Rudianto of PT. Toyota Manufacturing Indonesia and Frans Mandeko of PT. Dharma Precision Tools, even Oto Contest that invited famous clubs and modification outlets in Cikarang.

“Thanks to the hard work of all members of Mechanical Engineering President University, I am very happy that this year, we managed to conduct Oto Contest, the first and the biggest motorcycle modification competition in the university environment in Cikarang,” said Lydia while she was explaining the competition that was initiated by her students.

In line with Lydia, Christopher as the project manager of the event revealed that this Mechanical Engineering students’ first breakthrough was well received by various parties with their participation in this competition. Besides the modification competition, the committee was also held a modification class with 7 popular categories that were participated by students and people around Cikarang.

With the end of the 7th anniversary of Mechanical Engineering President University, Lydia hopes that the enthusiasm and creativity of students will continue to grow to advance the Indonesian automotive industry. In addition, she also hopes that the Mechanical Engineering study program can continue to strive to exist in people’s eyes. “As we hold various activities, people can see that learning mechanical engineering is fun. I hope that there are more people will be interested in Mechanical Engineering at President University," concluded Lydia. (SL)

 


 

Dies Natalis Teknik Mesin President University Gelar Auto Contest Terbesar di Lingkungan Kampus Cikarang

 

Memperingati hari jadi yang ke-7, Teknik Mesin President University sukses menggelar acara “7th DNM Presuniv: Reborn of Mechanical President University”. Digelar pada 13-24 November 2019, acara ini menghadirkan berbagai kegiatan menarik, seperti penyediaan stan servis motor, donor darah, seminar teknologi, kompetisi e-sport, dan Oto Contest (kompetisi modifikasi motor).

Kepala Program Studi Teknik Mesin President University Dr. Eng. Lydia Anggraini, S.T., M.Eng. mengatakan bahwa Dies Natalis tahun ini spesial dan berbeda. “Jika kegiatan dies natalis di tahun-tahun sebelumnya lebih fokus akademis, tahun ini, seluruh kegiatan, baik itu kompetisi dan seminar, lebih fokus untuk meningkatkan kreativitas dan menggali potensi mahasiswa dan orang-orang di Cikarang dan sekitarnya,” jelas Lydia.

Lydia juga mengungkapkan bahwa ia menyerahkan seluruh pelaksanaan kegiatan dies natalis ini diserahkan kepada Himpunan Mahasiswa (HIMA) Teknik Mesin President University. Dimulai dari seminar yang menghadirkan Dr. Eko Rudianto dari PT. Toyota Manufacturing Indonesia dan Frans Mandeko dari PT. Dharma Precision Tools, hingga Oto Contest yang menghadirkan berbagai klub dan gerai modifikasi ternama Cikarang.

“Senang sekali, karena berkat kerja keras seluruh mahasiswa Teknik Mesin, tahun ini kita dapat menggelar Oto Contest, kontes modifikasi motor pertama di lingkungan kampus yang terbesar di Cikarang,” ujar Lydia saat menjelaskan kegiatan kompetisi modifikasi motor yang diinisiasi oleh mahasiswanya ini.

Senada dengan Lydia, Christopher selaku ketua panitia mengungkapkan bahwa terobosan perdana mahasiswa Teknik Mesin ini disambut baik oleh berbagai pihak dengan keikutsertaan mereka dalam kompetisi ini. Selain kompetisi modifikasi, panitia juga mengadakan kelas modifikasi motor dengan 7 kategori yang banyak diminati tidak hanya mahasiswa, namun juga warga sekitar Cikarang.

Dengan berakhirnya perayaan hari jadi ke 7 Teknik Mesin President University ini, Lydia berharap semangat dan kreativitas mahasiswa terus bertumbuh untuk memajukan dunia industri automotif Indonesia. Selain itu, ia juga berharap program studi Teknik Mesin dapat terus eksis di kalangan umum. “Semoga dengan berbagai kegiatan yang kita adakan ini, orang-orang dapat melihat bahwa sebenarnya belajar teknik mesin itu fun kok, sehingga lebih banyak lagi peminat Teknik Mesin di President University,” tutup Lydia.
