JAKARTA, INDONESIA – The University of Glasgow has officially opened their global office in Menara Batavia, Jakarta, Indonesia, Monday (16/1) represented by Prof. Frank Coton, The Vice Principal of Academic and Educational Innovation and Dean for South East Asia, in partnership with President University.

“Our university’s strategy is titled ‘Inspiring People, Changing the World’ and we have been inspiring some of the great thinkers of history like James Watt and Adam Smith. We have been inspiring people to innovate and invent and we want all of the countries that we work with to benefit from the expertise and educational experience that the University of Glasgow can offer”, said Prof. Frank Coton on his speech.

Coton believes that the newly opened global office will provide a focal point to support students in accessing an education at the University of Glasgow. Furthermore, he also thinks that President University is ambitious and believes in the value of a high-quality education.

“In the years ahead, we will be working together to develop a range of collaborative activities that will benefit Indonesian students studying here and in the UK.   We believe that this and our other partnerships will strengthen Higher Education in Indonesia and that, ultimately, will be good for the economy and the country”, close Prof. Frank Coton.

On this occasion, both universities also signed an MoU on collaboration in various sectors.

Mr. Setyono Djuandi Darmono, The Chairman of Jababeka Group and the Founder of President University, Prof. Budi S. Soepandji, The Chairman of President University Foundation, Dr. Jony Oktavian Haryanto, The Rector of President University, Mr. Paul Smith, The Director of British Council, and more distinguished guests attended the MoU signing ceremony.
