A career as a UI/UX may be familiar among young jobseekers because almost every company in the digital business needs a UI/UX (User Interface/User Experience) role. Even so, many don't know what UI/UX is and how it functions in a company. To answer this question, Qlue Smart City, together with President University (PresUniv), held a webinar "Product Design: The Roles of UI/UX in Product Development" with Hana Clarinda, Product Designer UX, Gojek, Wednesday (3/11).

Hana, who graduated from the University of Indonesia with a degree in architecture, shared that she worked for 2.5 years as a UX designer. According to him, UX is not visible but can be felt when used (experiences). A career in UX requires creative skills, systematic thinking (user research, research analysis, design creativity, execution). Meanwhile, UI careers require critical & creative thinking, building an identity that can make customers remember the product/brand, and providing designs according to the company's branding.

The implementation of UI/UX must combine elements of technology, design, and business. A UI/UX is also required always to be innovative to solve user problems and maintain their loyalty. "A UI/UX person must design a website/application based on user experience because, in the future, the resulting product is expected to make it easier for users to access it," said Hana. For those who want a career in UI/UX, Hana advised, "Don't rely on the result, but rather on the process, such as user experience, user movement, architectural information, framework, usability test reports, as well as style combinations."
