For three days, February 3–5, 2023, students from the International Relations Study Program at President University (Presuniv) went on a field trip to Yogyakarta. They visited several museums in order to learn about the Indonesian struggle against colonialism and Indonesia’s fight for independence. The museums visited included the Fort Vredeburg Museum, the Sandi Museum, also known as the Indonesian Cryptology Museum, which is under the auspices of the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (Badan Siber dan Sandi Nasional or BSSN), and the Monumen Jogja Kembali (Monjali). Accommodations for the visit were provided by the Defense Heritage Society, an independent organization.

Dr. Jeanne Francoise, said "This field trip is part of the Defense Heritage elective course." Jeanne is the first Indonesian Women to hold a doctorate in defense heritage and she is also a lecturer for the defense heritage course this course at Presuniv. Participating in the field trip was Isyana Adriani Arslan, BA, M.Sc., who is also a lecturer in the International Relations Study Program.

The event began at the Fort Vredeburg Museum with a lecture from Drs. Suharja, followed by a cultural oration from Jeanne Francoise, and then students watched a documentary film about Fort Vredeburg's history. At the Cryptology Museum, students attended a presentation by the Head of the Indonesian Cryptology Museum, Setyo Budi Prabowo, Jeanne Francoise's oration, and the Vigenere Cipher game. While in Monjali, students saw firsthand how the military directly collected and created dioramas of Indonesian history during the military emergency period. (Dr. Jeanne Franscoise.
