The Covid-19 pandemic has changed business processes and consumer behavior. Many entrepreneurs stutter to face this change. For example, before the pandemic, food industry entrepreneurs made aesthetic, delightful, and comfortable dining designs. However, due to the pandemic, many people are afraid to eat out and choose to take away. As a result, investment in designing restaurants did not contribute to the business.

This was conveyed by Prof. Dr. Jony Oktavian Haryanto, Rector of President University (PresUniv), in the One Hour with Handoko Wignjowargo event entitled "Bagaimana Perubahan Perilaku Konsumen di Masa Pandemi dan Nanti?" which was held online, Saturday (18/9). According to Prof. Jony, the industry must be agile, and in order to survive, it is necessary to re-find the value proposition that has changed at this time. “Businessmen must also be able to find a competitive advantage from their products. It will not be easy to survive if you play on price or sell the same product as other business people. The business can be destroyed," he said.
The pandemic has also opened up many business opportunities. It must be utilized. He said, in the digital era, the pandemic has changed consumer behavior. “We have to leverage digital technology to expand our consumer base. Now consumers are no longer only in Indonesia, but all over the world," he said.

On that occasion, Prof. Jony also conveys marketing tricks to children which also experiencing changes due to the pandemic. He said that the children's market includes three categories: the primary market, the influencer market, and the futures market. “Currently, the primary market is experiencing a decline which has shifted to the influencer market. This is because children can no longer play outside the house. They now spend more time in front of the TV and smartphone," he explained. So, what is the impact on marketing? Prof. Jony concluded that marketing or promotion through social media and influencers is a new trend, so conventional marketing strategies like distributing brochures in malls are no longer relevant.
