Continuing education to the master's level, especially through scholarship, is the goal of many President University (PresUniv) students. Therefore, President University Major Association (PUMA) Management held a Study Excursion (STUDEX) 2021 webinar on Saturday (10/7). In this webinar, two speakers who attended shared their experiences in getting Master's scholarships. They are Indah Shafira Zata Dini, from Harvard University, US, and Alifia Anandita, from Tsinghua University, China. Alifia herself is an alumna of Communication Studies Study Program, PresUniv, batch 2011. Dr. Dra Genoveva, M.M., Head of PresUniv Management Study Program, also attended this webinar.

Alifia was an awardee of a master's degree scholarship from the Indonesian Ministry of Communication and Informatics (Kemkominfo RI). In the sharing session, she explained the importance of aligning the profile to the targeted scholarship. "My educational background and experience are all in the field of communication, so my profile became outstanding when I applied for a scholarship from the Ministry of Communication and Informatics," she explained.  In addition, Alifia also suggested that students must do research beforehand on the scholarships that match their profiles in advance, so that the registration process can become more effective.

Alifia's statement was also supported by Indah, who also shared her strategy for obtaining Master's degree scholarships abroad. “In addition to adjusting the profile, my strategy was that I already have an LoA, which is an acceptance letter from Harvard University. So, I was able to skip several stages when applying for a scholarship and could go straight to the interview stage,” she said. Indah also urged students to pay attention to the terms or ties listed so that there will be no misunderstandings in the future. The two speakers hoped this webinar would help PresUniv students when they take master's scholarships later. (Steven Chaniago, PR team. Photo: PUMA Management).
