Dr phil. habil. Patrick Ziegenhain, seorang warga negara Jerman, saat ini menjabat sebagai Associate Professor di Departemen Hubungan Internasional di President University, Cikarang, Indonesia (sejak September 2019). Sebelumnya pernah menjabat sebagai Profesor Tamu pada Departemen Administrasi Bisnis Universitas Atma Jaya di Jakarta, Indonesia (sejak Agustus 2018), Profesor Tamu di Asia-Europe Institute of University of Malaya in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (2016-2018), Profesor Sementara di Department of Southeast Asian Studies di Goethe-University Frankfurt, Germany (2015), Profesor Tamu di De la Salle University Manila, Filipina pada tahun 2014 dan Asisten Profesor ("Akademischer Rat") di Department of Political Science, University of Trier, Jerman (2007-2014). Bidang penelitian utamanya adalah perkembangan ekonomi, politik dan sosial di Asia Tenggara dan Eropa serta Hubungan Internasional di kedua wilayah tersebut.

Sejak 2005, Patrick Ziegenhain memegang gelar PhD dalam Ilmu Politik dari Albert-Ludwigs-University di Freiburg, Jerman. Selain banyak artikel akademis, ia adalah penulis buku “Institutional Engineering and Political Accountability in Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines” (2015), “The Indonesian Parliament and Democratization” (2008) and co-author of the book “Parliaments and Political Change in Asia” (2005).
