Kusuma Vimala Putra, a student from Management Study Program President University has just won third place in The National Essay Competition Among Students. The competition that was held by The Bureau of Student and Alumni Affairs of Ahmad Dahlan University on 19th October - 12 November, brought the theme "Adaptation Strategy for SDGs Implementation in the New Normal Era in Realizing a Developed Indonesia".

In this competition, Kusuma wrote his essay entitled “"The Existence and Collective Optimism of Youth through Youth Organizations as Travel Solutions in the New Normal Era In Order To Create Indonesia's Progress and Realizing SDGs 2030 through The Tourism Sector". He chose this title because of his concern for Indonesian tourism and willingness to advance this sector. He said, “The essay that I wrote highlighted the obstacles in tourism sector such as the minimum potential exploration, unsustainable development, and poor management in all tourist destinations,”

In the future, Kusuma wished for more essay competition. He added, “This kind of competition is necessary to train student’s writing talent and interest. Many students have creative and innovative ideas. This, among all other things, can be channeled through essay writing competitions.” (GN/SL)

 


 

Kusuma dari Prodi Manajemen Raih Juara III Lomba Esai Nasional Antar Mahasiswa

 

Kusuma Vimala Putra, mahasiswa Program Studi Manajemen, President University, meraih juara III dalam Lomba Esai Nasional Antar Mahasiswa. Lomba yang digelar oleh Biro Kemahasiwaan dan Alumni, Universitas Ahmad Dahlan, Yogyakarta, 19 Oktober hingga 12 November 2020, ini mengusung tema “Strategi Adaptasi Implementasi SDGs di Era New Normal dalam Mewujudkan Indonesia Berkemajuan”.

Dalam lomba ini, Kusuma menulis esai yang berjudul "Eksistensi dan Optimisme Kolektif Pemuda melalui Karang Taruna sebagai Solusi Berwisata di Era New Normal, untuk Menciptakan Kemajuan Indonesia sekaligus Mewujudkan SDGs 2030 melalui Sektor Pariwisata". Kusuma memilih judul ini karena kepeduliannya yang besar akan pariwisata Indonesia dan keinginannya untuk memajukan sektor ini. Ia menuturkan, “Isi esai saya menyoroti kendala-kendala dalam pengembangan pariwisata di Indonesia, seperti penggalian potensi yang kurang optimal, pengembangan yang tidak berkelanjutan, dan masih kurang baiknya pengelolaan berbagai destinasi wisata.” 

Ke depan, Kusuma berharap, akan semakin banyak ajang lomba penulisan esai. Katanya, “Ajang semacam ini perlu untuk mengasah minat dan bakat mahasiswa dalam menulis. Banyak mahasiswa yang memiliki ide-ide kreatif dan inovatif. Ini, antara lain, bisa disalurkan lewat lomba penulisan esai.” (GN/SL)
