President University invited Prof. Ir. Nizam, M.Sc., DIC, Ph.D., Director General of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia to deliver material on "Higher Education Policy in the Future" to leaders, lecturers, and educational staff at President University (9/9).

On this occasion, Prof. Nizam highlighted the phenomenon that universities often run at their own pace, while the industry also has its own pace. For that, Prof. Nizam said, "The spirit of an independent campus is how we connect the pace of higher education with the needs of the industry."

He mentioned that currently there is a need for an educational revolution, where learning focuses on each student and teacher should as a facilitator. "Every student has different passions, aspirations, and goals in life. We must prepare them to be self-directed learners who are flexible and adaptive so that their potentials can develop optimally,” he said.

Furthermore, Prof. Nizam explained the concept of an Independent Campus, Independent Learning to all lecturers and educational staff at President University. The basic concepts explained include student activities that can be carried out outside the home university, credit equivalents, and internships that are not only beneficial for students but also for lecturers. He also emphasized the importance of creating an entrepreneurial ecosystem based on technology and innovation in higher education, where President University has done this with the establishment of a business incubator, Setsail BizAccel.

President University hopes that Prof. Nizam's explanation can provide a better understanding of the concept of an Independent Campus to lecturers and staff also inspire them on how it can be applied properly in each classroom settings. (SL)

 


 

President University Mengundang Direktur Jenderal Pendidikan Tinggi untuk Bahas tentang Arahan Kebijakan Dikti ke Depan

 

President University mengundang Prof. Ir. Nizam, M.Sc., DIC, Ph.D., Direktur Jenderal Pendidikan Tinggi, Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Republik Indonesia untuk menyampaikan materi mengenai “Arah Kebijakan Dikti ke Depan” kepada pemimpin, dosen, serta tenaga kependidikan di President University (9/9).

Dalam kesempatan ini, Prof. Nizam menyoroti fenomena bahwa seringkali perguruan tinggi berjalan dengan lajunya sendiri, sementara dunia kerja juga memiliki lajunya sendiri. Untuk itu, Prof. Nizam menyebutkan, “Spirit dari Kampus Merdeka adalah bagaimana kita mengawinkan laju perguruan tinggi dengan kebutuhan dunia kerja yang nyata.”

Ia menyebutkan bahwa saat ini dibutuhkan revolusi pendidikan, di mana pembelajaran berfokus pada masing-masing mahasiswa dan guru sebagai fasilitator. “Setiap mahasiswa memiliki passion, cita-cita, dan tujuan hidup yang berbeda-beda. Kita harus siapkan mereka menjadi self-directed learners yang fleksibel dan adaptif sehingga potensinya bisa berkembang secara optimal,” ujarnya.

Lebih lanjut, Prof. Nizam memaparkan konsep Kampus Merdeka, Merdeka Belajar kepada seluruh dosen dan tenaga kependidikan di President University. Konsep dasar yang dijelaskan meliputi kegiatan mahasiswa yang dapat dilakukan di luar kampus asal, ekivalensi SKS, serta kegiatan magang yang tidak hanya bermanfaat bagi mahasiswa namun juga bagi dosen. Tak lupa, Prof. Nizam juga menekankan pentingnya menciptakan ekosistem kewirausahaan berbasis teknologi dan inovasi di perguruan tinggi, di mana ini telah dilakukan President University dengan berdirinya incubator bisnis, Setsail BizAccel.

President University berharap, pemaparan dari Prof. Nizam dapat memberikan pengertian yang lebih baik tentang konsep Kampus Merdeka serta bagaimana dapat diterapkan dengan baik dalam ruang kelas masing-masing. (SL)
