Being creative is essential for a student’s development. By encouraging the element of creativity and innovation, students will be able to communicate their opinions and ideas more freely that might seem difficult otherwise. Due to that reason, the General Directorate of Learning and Student Affairs (Dirjen Belmawa) Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia established Student Creativity Program or Program Kreativitas Mahasiswa (PKM) that rewards university students with incentives for their exceptional creative ideas and innovations in the form of proposals.
President University takes an active role in supporting their students to participate in this program. One of them is by organizing socialization and coaching clinic seminar on PKM that was held on Tuesday, 5th November 2019 at Charles Himawan Auditorium, President University, Cikarang. The seminar invited the Director of President Research Center Prof. Dr. Ir. Sony Heru Priyanto M.M. and PKM-AI 2019 Incentive Awardee La Ode Rifaldi Nedan Prakasa (International Relations 2017) as the speakers.
On this occasion, Sony explained the background of the program including its categories and procedures on writing and submitting a PKM proposal. He highlighted the importance of picking up a topic that is relevant to the situation in Indonesia nowadays to give a sense of urgency and practicality into the proposal. The seminar was continued with a sharing session by La Ode on how he and his team got their proposal selected by Dirjen Belmawa as one of the awardees of PKM-AI 2019.
The Head of Student Affairs Bureau of President University Agus Sofian Eka Hidayat, S.Pd., M.Ed., M.Sc. hoped that through this seminar, President University students will be more encouraged to create and submit PKM proposals. “The Student Affairs Bureau of President University fully encourages the students to write proposals that can compete with ones written by students from other universities across Indonesia,” Eka stated. He wishes that President University students will make it through the selection process and receive the funding for the PKM 5 Bidang category in the upcoming PKM. (APW)
President University Mendorong Kreativitas dan Inovasi Mahasiswa Melalui PKM
Memiliki kreativitas menjadi penting bagi perkembangan mahasiswa. Dengan mendorong elemen kreativitas dan inovasi, mahaiswa akan mampu mengkomunikasikan opini-opini dan ide-ide mereka dengan lebih bebas. Oleh karena itu, Direktorat Jenderal Pembelajaran dan Kemahasiswaan Kementerian Riset dan Teknologi Republik Indonesia membentuk Program Kreativitas Mahasiswa (PKM) dengan tujuan memberikan penghargaan kepada mahasiswa universitas dalam bentuk insentif atas ide-ide kreatif dan inovasi luar biasa mereka yang disusun dan diajukan dalam sebuah proposal.
President University turut serta secara aktif mendukung mahasiswanya untuk berpartisipasi dalam program ini. Salah satunya adalah melalui pelaksanaan seminar sosialisasi dan coaching clinic mengenai PKM yang telah diadakan pada Selasa, 5 November 2019 di Auditorium Charles Himawan, President University, Cikarang. Seminar ini mengundang Direktur dari President Research Center Prof. Dr. Ir. Sony Heru Priyanto M.M. dan Penerima Insentif PKM-AI 2019 La Ode Rifaldi Nedan Prakasa (International Relations 2017) sebagai pembicara.
Dalam kesempatan ini, Sony menjelaskan latar belakang program termasuk di antaranya kategori-kategori proposal serta prosedur penulisan dan pengajuan proposal PKM. Ia menyoroti pentingnya pemilihan topik yang relevan dengan situasi terkini di Indonesia untuk memberikan urgensi dan daya guna ke dalam proposal mereka. Seminar tersebut dilanjutkan dengan sesi sharing yang dibawakan oleh La Ode mengenai bagaimana ia dan timnya mampu menyusun proposal hingga terpilih oleh Dirjen Belmawa sebagai salah satu penerima insentif PKM-AI 2019.
Kepala Biro Kemahasiswaan President University Agus Sofian Eka Hidayat, S.Pd., M.Ed., M.Sc berharap melalui seminar ini, mahasiswa President University akan semakin terdorong untuk membuat dan mengajukan proposal PKM. “Biro Kemahasiswaan President University mendukung penuh mahasiswa untuk menulis proposal yang mampu bersaing dengan proposal lainnya yang ditulis oleh mahasiswa-mahasiswa dari universitas lain di seluruh Indonesia,” ujar Eka. Ia juga menyatakan keinginannya agar mahasiswa President University mampu menembus proses seleksi dan mendapat insentif di kategori PKM 5 Bidang dalam rangkaian kegiatan PKM yang akan datang. (APW)
