The number of public companies is currently more than 800. All of the valuation needs of public companies are only served by 71 business valuers. Referring to this data, opportunities for careers as valuers are still very much open. This was stated by Willy D. Kusnanto, founder and owner of the Public Assessment Service Office (Kantor Jasa Penilaian Publik or KJPP) Kusnanto and Partners, on Thursday (17/11), at the 2022 Virtual Internship and Career Fair (VICF), organized by the Internship and Career Center Bureau (ICC), President University (Presuniv). "Valuers" is a term for appraisers who can provide appraisal services, including for public companies.
KJPP Kusnanto was founded in 2009. The KJPP currently has three partners, two of them have a Certificate of Registration (Surat Tanda Terdaftar or STTD) from the Financial Services Authority (Otoritas Jasa Keuangan or OJK) and one who does not. "Our office only operates as a business appraiser, not other appraisers," Kusnanto explained. There are some types of appraisers, namely simple property appraisers, personal property, property, and business and property appraisers. Kusnanto explained that the services provided by appraisers were different from those of auditors. "In an audit, we talk about the past, while appraisers or valuers talk about the future," he said. Organizationally, these appraisers are affiliated with the Indonesian Appraiser Professional Society, or MAPPI (Masyarakat Profesi Penilai Indonesia). (JB Susetiyo, PR team. Photo: JB Susetiyo)
