About the Study Program


President University Civil Engineering Study Program is the fifth study program under Faculty of Engineering, established with concrete Vision, Mission, Objectives and Strategic Plans which respond to and accommodate the current needs of university shareholders, both internal and external, in nation and global scale. To implement and execute the vision, mission, objectives, and strategic plans, the study program relies on updated curriculum, strong leadership, sufficient facilities and infrastructure, partnership with national and international institutions, and excellent quality assurance system.

When it comes to leadership and quality management system, Civil Engineering of President University relies on complete cycle of planning, do, check, and action phase that to ensure that the process and standard operating procedure is accordingly implemented. Plans are made based on the past and current information, as well as tailored to the future aspiration of not only the Faculty of Engineering, but also President University.

To ensure that students will graduate as employable and professional Civil Engineers who are competitive in the labor market, Civil Engineering study programs develops curriculum that follows the recent challenges and trend in the Civil Engineering field. The curriculum integrates not only the fundamental theory of Civil Engineering, but also feedback from industry and professionals whose career is in line with Civil Engineering works. To complement the student’s understanding of Civil Engineering theory, Civil Engineering study program implements an intensive internship program, which is a-credited subject, and delivered as a structured and well-monitored program. In addition, Civil Engineering study program establishes cooperation with the University of Glasgow, Singapore so that the internationalization process of study programs can be easily implemented.

To produce the expected output and quality, Civil Engineering Study Program creates partnership with the industries, particularly in the areas of Cikarang and Jababeka. This network strengthens the delivery of curriculum by supplying not only subject matter expert but relevant facilities such as laboratories, and other equipment that matches with the expected learning outcome.

To deliver the curriculum and lessons in an effective method and to ensure that students of Civil Engineering the study program engaged with qualified lecturers who demonstrate not only strong conceptual background, but also extensive work experience in the fields related with Civil Engineering.  Lecturers are expected not only to be a teacher in class, but also to serve as mentor for the students who can advise them about learning plan and recent industrial breakthrough. Not only the lecturers, but the supporting staffs are well-educated about the purpose and vision of Civil Engineering , the background of the curriculum, and are actively engaged with the student’s and study program activities.

The establishment of Civil Engineering Study Program is also to enrich the research and development of new theory as well as to offer tangible contribution to the community and society. In collaboration with Research and Community Development Bureau of President University, Civil Engineering Study Program intensively encourages the lecturers to attend conference and to involve in research which can add new insight to the academic discussion and can provide managerial implications for business practitioners. In terms of community development, Civil Engineering is prepared to be part of the effort in creating sustainable infrastructure for the better life of community and society, in all possible ways that may have positive effect to the people.
