Cikarang, Indonesia — President University hosted “Nescafe Kickstart” that was held in Charles Himawan Auditorium on Tuesday (16/5). The event was a part of roadshows held by Nescafe to promote the competition to search for the best business plan. The winner will get 200 million Rupiah prize and get the opportunity to actualize their business plan with the guidance of professional mentors in their field. Prianka Bukit, Director of 20Fit and Marchella F.P, Creative Director of Generasi 90an, and approximately 200 students in President University attended this event.

The event was opened by Drs. Gatot Imam Nugroho, Ak, MBA, Head of Accounting Study Programme, followed by remarks from Rendika Nugraha, S.T., M.AB, one of the Business Administration Lecturers in President University.

The first speaker, Prianka Bukit talked about the preparations needed to start a business. He emphasized that beside a good business plan, a strong mentality is needed to face difficulties and failures in business. According to him, to introduce a new business we have to educate people by providing enough information.

“To attract people to get to know something new, we have to start with educate them, keep them informed through various platform including social media,” said Prianka.

Furthermore, Marchella F.P. shared her experiences in starting business and how she managed the ups and downs in business. She claimed that knowledge in business is important and also by having good partners and mentors is one of the supporting factors to build a successful business.

“This event is good for students to initiate their idea which is also in line with the curriculum in President University. We have two entrepreneurship subjects: Business Model Development and Business Project. I hope that the students could participate in this competition as a place to study and develop their business idea,” said Rendika Nugraha.

Marchella added that President University students are very enthusiastic toward business. She also hopes there will be more students who can actualize their business plan. (SL)
