As we know, Indonesia becomes a promising market for financial technology (fintech) startup company. With the innovation services provided, makes the fintech company could grow faster than conventional financial institutions (banking). Refers to the data of Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK), there are 54 fintech companies are officially listed in OJK. 

"As of April 2018, the total of loan disbursement through the fintech company in Indonesia reached Rp5,42 trillion or increased 111.23% from April 2017," stated Alvin Taulu, Head of Sub-Division Fintech, Direktorat Pengaturan, Perizinan  dan Pengawasan Fintech OJK. 

To learn about OJK’s regulation on fintech companies, approximately 40 Management Study Program students of President University had an opportunity to visit OJK on Thursday (24/5) in Wisma Mulia 2, Jakarta. The students group was led by Dr. Dra. Genoveva, M.M., Head of Management Study Program and J.B. Susetiyo, Director of Internship and Career Center (ICC). 

During the visit, the students obtained more knowledge about OJK’s regulation No. 77/2016 “Loan Borrowing Services Based on Information Technology”. The OJK’s regulation regulates Legal Entity and Legal Ownership, Registration and Licensing, Activity Restriction, Fintech Ecosystem, Risk Management, Consumer Protection, Education, Electronic Signature, Anti Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing Restrictions and Reporting.

Specifically, Alvin also clarified to the students that fintech companies are not only need financial and technological knowledge. 


Seperti diketahui bersama, Indonesia menjadi pasar yang menjanjikan bagi perusahaan startup financial technology (fintech). Dengan inovasi layanan yang diberikan, membuat perusahaan fintech dapat tumbuh lebih cepat dibanding lembaga keuangan konvensional (perbankan). Mengacu data lembaga Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK) tercatat ada 54 perusahaan fintech yang terdaftar resmi di OJK. 
“Sampai dengan April 2018, total pinjaman disalurkan melalui perusahaan fintech di Indonesia sudah mencapai Rp5,42 trilyun atau meningkat 111,23% dari April 2017 lalu,” jelas Alvin Taulu, Kepala Sub-Bagian Fintech, Direktorat Pengaturan, Perizinan  dan Pengawasan Fintech OJK. 
Untuk mengetahui tentang regulasi OJK terkait fintech, sebanyak 40 mahasiswa President University dari Program Studi Management mendapat kesempatan berkunjung ke OJK pada Kamis (24/5) di Wisma Mulia 2, Jakarta. Rombongan mahasiswa dipimpin oleh Dr. Dra. Genoveva, M.M., Kepala Program Studi Management dan J.B. Susetiyo, Director Internship Career Center (ICC). 
Selama kunjungan, mahasiswa banyak mendapatkan pengetahuan tentang Peraturan OJK No. 77/ 2016,  “Layanan Pinjam Meminjam Uang Berbasis Teknologi Informasi”. Dalam peraturan OJK tersebut mengatur tentang Legal Entity dan Legal Ownership, Registration dan Licensing, Activity Restriction,  Fintech Ecosystem,  Risk Management, Consumer Protection & Education, Electronic Signature, Anti Money Laundering & Terrorism Financing, Restrictions and Reporting. 
Secara khusus Alvin juga menekankan bahwa perusahaan fintech tidak hanya membutuhkan pengetahuan teknologi dan keuangan.
