Cikarang, Indonesia – On Wednesday (15/6), President University held a workshop entitled “Training and Writing an international scientific journal” with Prof. Dr. Ir. Djoko Santoso, M. Sc. as the speaker. The workshop took place at A429 room, President University and attended by Dr. Jony O. Haryanto, the Rector of President University and approximately 50 lecturers from all study programs.

This workshop was held to train President University lecturers who want to continue their study to a doctorate degree and learn how to make a scientific journal that can be published internationally in SCOPUS.

In this event, Prof. Dr. Ir. Djoko Santoso, M. Sc. explains how to write a good SCOPUS-standard journal. In Scopus, there are many references from many journals that could be used by the readers, publication standards (whether the journal will be accepted or rejected), and information from the publishers about the status of the journal.

Scopus is the world's largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed research literature with over 22,000 titles from more than 5,000 international publishers. According to the data of RISTEKDIKTI year 2016, publication of Indonesian scientific journal in SCOPUS are still in the lowest rank in Southeast Asia.

"Scientist who does not do a research cannot be called as a scientist. Therefore, they must do concrete research journals that are published and recognised by the international level. I do hope for the future, publication of the scientific journals in Indonesia can increase", said Santoso. (YE)
