Dr. M.A.S. Hikam, APU (born in Tuban, East Java, April 26, 1958) was the former Minister of State for Research and Technology at the Cabinet of National Unity. He earned a bachelor’s degree in 1981 from Gadjah Mada University and a doctorate degree from the University of Hawaii at Manoa in 1995. He is currently one of the lecturers at President University and he teaches Diplomacy and Intelligence also International Culture and Communications.

Currently, he is a Policy Adviser for National Agency for Intelligence of Republic Indonesia (Badan Intelijen Negara RI). He wrote various books and articles, one of the important books lately is Deradikalisasi: peran masyarakat sipil Indonesia membendung radikalisme.
