Ani specializes in language socialization research and an interactional discourse analytic approach to the study of language development in adult learners. For her doctoral thesis, Ani worked in the immigrant communities in Columbus, Ohio where she conducted a longitudinal study on the immigrant workers’ language use and learning in the workplace. Her other areas of interests include non-native English speaking professionals, workplace ESL/EFL, world-Englishes, and teachers professional development.
