My expertise is in Strategic Management and Development Economics however, I also teach Marketing, Organization Change, Leadership, Entrepreneurship and Business Consultation at MBA and DBA level. I also taught Academic Writing (Research) and Research Methodology to PhD students. In the past, I have also taught subjects like Organization Behavior, Performance Management, International Business, and Managerial Economics at graduate and post graduate level.

I am currently working on Destination Image management but I have been involved in the following Research Projects in my last assignment with U(2010-2015):

• Member FRGS (Fundamental Research Grant, Malaysia) – An integrated customer centric framework to study intentions to use Islamic banking products in Malaysia.

• Member ERGS (Exploratory Research Grant, Malaysia) – Exploring governance framework for optimum performance of GTP, Malaysia.

• Head, VRGS (Visiting Research Grant, UUM) – Training needs analysis of Malaysian companies – case studies.

• Head, CRGS (Case Study Research Grant, UUM) – Tenaga Nasional – SOP vs CSR.

• Case Writing - Apart from writing research papers with my students (published in Scopus or refereed journals), I have contributed with real life business management cases that are being published by Sage and Emerald. In 2014, I participated in 6 international case writing competitions on behalf of UUM.

In addition to teaching and research, my contributions were as follows:

• EDP - I was Director, Executive Development Programs (EDP) at OYAGSB September, 2011- July, 2014. EDP was started in September, 2011 with no seed money. By December, 2013 the EDP unit had net profit of about USD 50,000 before I quit.

• Consultancy – Strategic Analysis and Succession Planning in a Malaysian company SerindIT Sdn Bhd dealing in IT services.

• Course Design - Besides these, I have designed various courses e.g. Business Negotiations and Innovation and New Business for DBA courses and revised Strategic Management for MBA. I also have contributed as Course Coordinator.

• International Ties – Actively promoted international ties with ICFAI, Hyderabad, India, UEL, London, UK and AIT, Bangkok, Thailand besides maintaining relationship with NIFM, Faridabad, India.

• Have contributed as Session Chair and as participant in conferences e.g. PRME 2014, Kuala Lumpur and in various academic committees.
