Cikarang, Indonesia – President University hosts its Founder and the Chairman of Jababeka Group, Setyono Djuandi Darmono, on Friday (7/4) at Jababeka Golf and Country Club in the occasion of “Entrepreneurship Sharing Session with SD Darmono”. This is the second session of the event for the selected few students of President University from all study programs who are chosen to be mentored directly by S.D. Darmono. The mentoring aims to equip and guide each student to become an entrepreneur who gives big impact to Indonesia as a country.

“President University is a university with 5.600 hectare land, making it the biggest university in the world. I want to encourage you to do big things and utilize Jababeka as your living labs”, says Darmono opening the second sharing session.

One of the students from Electrical Engineering batch 2015, Tamara Eka Fitri, was concerned on how to gain capital, of which, is really important to start a business and asked this to the Founder of President University.

“Please do not misunderstand. You don’t have to have big amount of money in your pocket to start a business. You can go to banks or investors to get loan. Create a creative business concept, utilize the technology, and gain maximum benefit out of your products. Banks and these investor will listen to you and lend you the money”, explained Darmono.

He added that in order of doing so, first impression is really important; an impression that you are willing to and able to pay back to the investors. Making a business pitch short, simple, and straightforward is very important, not to mention that bringing referrals can also one of the most effective ways to convince the investors.

In the first session, the students are already divided to groups consist of three to four people, creating a business concept and plan. In this second meeting, each of them was presenting their ideas as if they are going to propose a loan to Darmono. (AA)
