President University celebrated its 17th anniversary with a series of events themed "The Other Side of The Horizon". Carnival Night closed the series of events on Friday, April 26, 2019. Held at the President's University Student Housing, the event was opened with remarks speech from the chairman of the event, Melinda Stefani Yaputri and Rector of President University, Prof. Dr. Jony Oktavian Haryanto.

As we know, seventeen is a special age. At this age, a person is considered to have become an adult in spirit, body, and mind. This was also expressed by the Rector of President University, Prof. Dr. Jony Oktavian Haryanto.

"I hope that through this 17th anniversary, President University continue to stand firm and as the part of President University, we need to continue to support and help President University become a high-potential international university," said Prof. Jony.

After the speech, the event continued with cutting the tumpeng ceremony and interesting performances from various parties. Presenting special performances from The Changcuters and Club Dangdut Racun, the event went fantastic. Not only Carnival Night, the Splash Run which was held the day before (25/4) also has successfully attracted the attention of President University students and staff.

Another event that was highlighted in the 17th Anniversary of President University Anniversary was the Open Senate Session of the Inauguration of Professor Prof. Dr. Jony Oktavian Haryanto. This is special because Prof. Dr. Jony Oktavian Haryanto is the first professor born from President University. This event was attended by all members of the senate, President University Foundation, staff, lecturers, and students of President University. Invited guests who attended the event included Head of the Region IV Higher Education Services Institute - Prof. Dr. Uman Suherman AS, M.Pd. and professor of the University of Indonesia - Prof. Rhenald Kasali, Ph.D.


President University merayakan hari jadinya yang ke-17 dengan serangkaian acara bertema “The Other Side of The Horizon”. Carnival Night menjadi penutup acara pada Hari Jumat, 26 April 2019. Diadakan di President University Student Housing, acara ini dibuka dengan kata sambutan dari ketua acara, Melinda Stefani Yaputri dan rektor President University Prof. Dr. Jony Oktavian Haryanto.

Seperti yang kita ketahui, usia 17 merupakan usia yang spesial. Di usia inilah seseorang dianggap sudah menjadi dewasa secara jiwa, raga, dan juga pikiran. Hal ini pun diungkapkan oleh Rektor President University, Prof. Dr. Jony Oktavian Haryanto.

“Saya harap melalui peringatan yang ke 17 ini, President University bisa terus berdiri tegap dan kita selaku bagian dari President University perlu berbangga hati dan terus mendukung dan membantu President University menjadi kampus berskala International yang berpotensi tinggi,” ujar Prof. Jony.

Setelah sambutan, acara dilanjutkan dengan pemotongan tumpeng dan penampilan-penampilan menarik dari berbagai pihak. Menghadirkan penampilan spesial dari The Changcuters dan Club Dangdut Racun, acara berlangsung dengan meriah. Tidak hanya Carnival Night, Splash Run yang diadakan sehari sebelumnya (25/4) pun sukses menarik perhatian mahasiswa dan staf President University. Diadakan sore menjelang malam hari, acara lari marathon ini menghadirkan sensasi yang berbeda.

Acara lain yang menjadi sorotan pada rangkaian acara Dies Natalis President University yang ke-17 ini adalah Sidang Senat Terbuka Pengukuhan Guru Besar Prof. Dr. Jony Oktavian Haryanto. Hal ini menjadi spesial karena Prof. Dr. Jony Oktavian Haryanto merupakan profesor pertama yang lahir dari President University. Acara ini dihadiri oleh segenap jajaran rektorat, anggota senat, pengurus Yayasan Pendidikan Universitas Presiden, staf, dan segenap dosen President University. Tamu undangan yang turut menghadiri acara tersebut antara lain, kepala Lembaga Layanan Pendidikan Tinggi Wilayah IV - Prof. Dr. Uman Suherman AS, M.Pd. dan guru besar Universitas Indonesia - Prof. Rhenald Kasali, Ph.D.
